Commercial Officer- Defence
A Commercial Officer with Defence experience is required to work on a thirteen month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Bournemouth.
This is a 13 month contract with a leading UK defence company.
Overview of the Commercial Officer contract role
You will be required to provide comprehensive Commercial and Contract management support to a wide range of bids and contracts for the Systems delivery group within Defence Information. Working as part of the DI Commercial Team, and reporting to the Commercial Manager (Export), to develop and manage innovative commercial solutions and implementing contractual strategies to the nominated Systems Project and Campaign Teams.
Key skills required for the Commercial Officer
- Commercial Management experience in accordance with the Operational Framework and organisation design.
- Lead and build relationships with Customers, partners and stakeholders,
- Undertake negotiation of contracts. Instigate and negotiate unique tailored arrangements, eg Confidentiality Agreements.
- Manage Contracts post award, including change control management, monitoring DI's performance of its contractual obligations, management of commercial risk.
- Draft and negotiate Terms and Conditions of Contracts and appropriate flow down to sub-contracts, working in conjunction with Procurement.
- Preparation of Commercial Proposals including appropriate and innovative commercial solutions.
- Provide guidance and support in relation to the commercial requirements for the LCM process.
- Interface with internal legal and financial specialists.
- Work across project, disciplines and functions and engage at all levels within the Company
Understand and implement Company business and finance processes and policies including SAP Use.
The role is based in Christchurch, Dorset - commutable from Salisbury, Fordingbridge, Ringwood, Lymington, Ferndown, Bournemouth and Poole with excellent access from Southampton, Eastleigh and Winchester
