FPGA Design Engineer X3
Length: 6 months
Location: Birmingham
Rate: £35 - £45 per hour
The role:
This position is for an expert DO-254 FPRG Design Engineer.
The project requires Firmware RTL design requirements & code to be developed and completed to successfully complete the DO-254 audits for verification where the FPGA design requirements and RTL design code must be completed with all review records available as evidence for scrutiny
The project includes multiple FPGA designs, used in Motor Drive Equipment application; this will require understanding the current design methodology, co-ordinating activities to complete each data item, diligently completing a peer review for each data item developed. Data items will include requirements with justification traceability and RTL design code with requirements traceability.
This design activity is relatively mature in some instances however remains incomplete, hence there is still much work required to take the design to completion and concurrently support the verification activities to completion to show full compliance to their respective requirements. The requirements and design must be completed and reviewed to withstand scrutiny to gain sufficient confidence that the verification development has been completed against a robust DO-254 design.
Qualifications:
- Electronics/Electrical Engineering Degree with sufficient experience & expertise of writing and implementing RTL design VHDL code into a complex component for Aerospace applications or similar safety critical industry
Skills & Experience:
- Experience of FPGA design to requirements to achieve DO-254
- Writing functional requirements for FPGA design development to DO-254
- Writing RTL VHDL code to requirements including applicable processes and standards
- Experience of developing and working to DO-254
- Prepare and maintain the necessary documentation to pass reviews needed for D)-254 certification and production release
- Requirements Management (Preferably DOORS)
- Support FPGA revision Changes
- Perform Peer reviews
- The role is intended to be based out of Birmingham however some travel to Hemel Hempstead may be necessary
