Internal Communications Officer

Rate: £negotiable/flexible

Location: Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire

Term: 3 months (Initially)

My nationwide, blue chip client is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Communications Officer to join their expert team in Stoke-on-Trent.

Key responsibilities:

  • Looking after the communications plan, keeping programme team up to date on the wider national picture as well as leading engagement sessions and updating our internal programme communication channels
  • Help define the business change transformational messages to ensure the readiness for the changes
  • Understand and pre-empt the internal communications needs of all target groups, and ensure appropriate communications are prepared and delivered to meet such needs
  • Service internal customers with timely and relevant information to ensure delivery of shared objectives
  • Be proactive in communicating activity to all stakeholders, identifying the most appropriate communication process to ensure there is awareness and buy in
  • To project manage, deliver and evaluate internal communications campaigns
  • To own, maintain, develop and evaluate a number of the firm's internal communications channels
  • Editing digital and printed media, completing basic layouts, structuring narratives and co-ordinating third party resources
  • Plan and deliver events

Skills/Experience:

  • Internal Communications experience in a Nationwide/Global organisation - Essential
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Able to manage relationships with external suppliers
  • Ability to deliver clear, concise, interesting copy to deadline
  • Effective writing skills - ability to articulate information clearly and effectively
  • Seasoned communicator with a strong understanding of the role and disciplines of internal communications and change communications
  • Methodical and forward-thinking; able to produce and deliver against project plans and timetables on own initiative, to agreed budgets and deadlines

The successful candidate could be currently working as: Communications Coordinator, Comms Manager, Engagement Manager, Communications & Engagement Manager or Comms Officer.
