Investment, strategy, Asset, governance, InsuranceThe Investment team is responsible for the investment strategy and coordination and oversight of Investment Asset Liability Management (where optimising assets relative to liabilities requires a change to investment portfolios), as well as working with our asset managers and fiduciary manager on the management of UK&E's £160bn of assets.
The Investment Oversight Manager will be responsible for the monitoring of investment governance, maintenance of documentation such as investment guidelines, IMAs and PPMG ISMA, and framework design. He/she will also have oversight of PPMG control, including administration of the relationship management committee (Joint Steering Committee) and have management and administration of Investments' contribution to committees.
This role has ownership of asset valuation oversight, and will be responsible for driving the restructuring of our asset valuation and verification processes to be in line with Solvency II requirements. The role will also own the determination and governance over valuation risk reporting and adjustments.
The role will act as a regulation champion for the Investments team, ensuring that all changes and developments in relevant insurance and investment regulation are considered and reflected appropriately.
The role-holder will be expected to be impactful, self-directing, assertive where necessary, and know when to escalate risks or issues to senior management. He or she will also require good attention to detail, and act with prudence. Experience of working in an oversight role in the insurance industry or an asset management organisation will be highly beneficial to the success of this role.
