Description

IT Solution Architect HW -

The TC for REDF IT Solution project has as objective the design and development of a standard global IT solution for Trade Compliance for Repair Delivery Flow (HW services) in order to support and optimize local implementations, including interfaces and Information Management (GTS, M5, SAP ONE, MDM, PRIM/EPIC).

The Solution Architect will be responsible for the design of the solution mentioned above.

The REDF (Repair Delivery Flow) is responsible for ensuring that customers will get replacement HW when needed in an efficient way to not jeopardize their operations, comprehending all steps from when the request is created by the customer until the HW is delivered including shipment of HW across borders, import/export, etc.

Systems involved in the REDF flow are: GTS, M5/Mercury, SAP ONE, MDM, PRIM/EPIC

The REDF flow is not fully trade compliant and some current challenges are:

- some existing TC controls are done manually (outside the systems),
- some steps within the REDF flow are executed in silos resulting that TC relevant
data is not pushed through to later steps in the flow
- TC relevant data is not captured in an appropriated way/step.

Trade Compliance controls are being deployed in REDF in order to reduce the identified risks (TC for REDF program is ongoing) but previous implementations have focused on local solutions. Considering that TC controls need to be implemented in 70+ countries, the need of a standard global TC solution has been identified.

This project - TC for REDF IT Solution project - has as objective the design and development of a standard global IT solution for TC for REDF in order to support and optimize the local implementations, including interfaces and Information Management (GTS, M5, SAP ONE, MDM, PRIM/EPIC)

Requirements:

Senior Solution Architect role description

The Solution Architect will be responsible for designing an overall TC IT solution covering the entire REDF flow that complies with pre-defined TC business requirements.

The Solution Architect should:

1 Identify/describe how TC for REDF is done (how it works) today, ie, the AS-IS situation, including the process, operational tasks, systems involved, etc.

2 Analyze gaps in relation to the business requirements

3 Design and document a standard, E2E IT solution for TC for REDF. The solution should use the existing systems. Although the solution will focus on the IT systems (configurations, integrations, etc), the solution should consider the operation/business perspective as well. The solution might require changes on WoW/process.

4 Specify requirements towards the development teams

5 Test and accept the development.

6 Document and prepare/coordinate roll out kit production

Furthermore, and among others, the solution should:

- Remove manual TC controls by reflecting them in the appropriate system

- Specify when/where TC controls should be performed (which step of the flow/system)

- Specify what TC information should be captured and when/where (which step flow/system)

- Specify integrations between the systems to ensure that the data is re-used throughout the flow improving efficiency and consistency (no need to enter the same data more than once)

- Point out master data that is used by TC controls

- Use existing systems

- Apply automation wherever possible

- Allow for a step-wise implementation, ie, turn On/Off TC controls (per site, per control, etc)

The Solution Architect will have as main deliverables:

- TC IT Solution specification as described above

- System Spec requirements specifying required changes to the systems in appropriated level to be handed over to development teams

- Follow up development and provide support

- Test and acceptance of development

- Documentation/Roll out kit

- Provide support during pilot implementation

The Solution Architect will have support from SME/systems experts from respective systems/process as well as an Information Architect resource that will be allocated to the project (separated request).

The candidate should be a Senior Solution Architect with extend experience designing similar solutions, E2E.

- Experience working with Ericsson is a must

- Experience handling business requirements is a must

- Experience with involved systems is very good to have.

- Knowledge on Trade Compliance in relation to HW services is good to have.

The solution architect should also provide the following:

Act with a long term perspective, protecting the IT vision and the project objectives, ie an overall IT architect responsibility

Based on existing solutions, use cases and process mappings, perform gap analyses to identify areas to evolve in the Trade Compliance solution for REDF in order to minimize trade compliance risks and manual work as well as maximizing automation of controls

Assume responsible for quality assurance of the overall IT solution and documentation

Handle and manage IT architecture issues within the IT organization

Identify and prepare needed solutions related to the Trade Compliance IT solution for REDF

Make architecture decisions when requested and motivate them, verify assumptions  regarding technical direction and anchor them in appropriate line

Communicate the project strategy together with the Project Manager in terms that are important for IT managers and the technical community regarding architecture, design, and implementation considerations

Do impact analysis of the effects of the designed IT solution on the current IT, information, and IT support landscapes

Ensure alignment with Ericsson corporate requirements

Act as a long term responsible for architectural decisions taken in the IT project as a line representative and owner of the Architecture until the project is terminated. Responsible to transfer the ownership of the Architecture to the line organization

Act as chairman in relevant IT project boards and lead IT reference teams needed to establish a clear technical governance of the project and the IT solution

Create and raise demands on needed functionality towards the developing communities
