Description

We are looking for a fantastic Marketing & Communications Officer to join one of London's top Universities on a 9- month maternity cover. The role will support the planning of all marketing activities required to raise the department's profile and in liaison with the wider College's marketing initiatives.

You will have one direct report within this role.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform market, competitor and internal research, as required
* Collate and prepare marketing statistics, from applications, web analytics, social media and other channels to evidence our marketing performance
* Monitor and develop strategy to create a positive and continued social media activity to boost PR (focus on student room and Twitter)
* Manage the Digital Engagement Officer to ensure social media initiatives leading up to student applications opening and during allocations are done in line with our internal guidelines
* Create and update marketing database to track commercial developments in our sector
* Develop and implement the overall Marketing and Communications Delivery Plan for Residences
* Develop and further review marketing materials in accordance to business needs (aimed at current, prospective students and staff)
* Direct the Digital Engagement Officer to source and post entries on social media, as well as pro-actively encourage stakeholders to supply regular posts and engage them in social media campaigns.
* Project manage the design, development and co-ordination of internal/external marketing and PR campaigns (aimed at students/staff at the University).
* Develop in liaison with webpage owners the content of King's Residences website; directing and monitoring the output from the Digital Engagement Officer.
* Compose email campaigns ensuring branding guidelines are adhered to in HTML or other suitable format, in line with communications planner, monitoring opening rates and feeding back to the management team.
* Measure the effectiveness of campaigns and marketing materials using qualitative and quantitative methods. This will include setting KPIs, carrying out market research with students and other members of the University and running focus groups as necessary.
* Manage and project manage the production of all printed material and reoccurring printed literature - co-ordinate entries from team members and liaise with the preferred designers and printers.
* Proactively liaise with the Communications and Marketing Department at the University to promote the department activities through centrally managed print and online media, as well as suggesting news stories relating to Residence Life for publication.
* Work closely with the Communications and Marketing Department at the University to organise open days; ensuring teams representing Residences on Open Days are given the equipment, collateral and training to do so.
* To organise and coordinate Open Days at residences and report on success
* Prepare and coordinate internal communication for the wider team and College in regards to key dates and applications processing times
* Create, maintain and update marketing calendar
* Draft collateral materials and liaise with our Cooperate Design unit to ensure brand guidelines are adhered to
* Take ownership of all Student Residences Boards across campuses and ensure adequate, branded materials demonstrate the quality of our services
* Responsible for managing the Marketing and Communications budget.
* Prepare literature packs required for the key audiences; partners, colleagues, parents, prospective students, departing students
* Carry out any other duties commensurate with the role, as requested by the Head of Residences or Deputy Head of Residences
