Job Title: Corporate Compliance Associate

Location: Buffalo, NY

Duration: 3 months (Possibility for Extension)


  • Provides operational and administrative support within the Corporate Compliance team. Responsible for maintaining information and reporting on compliance-related matters including email security violations and contracts. Work involves handling confidential information requiring discretion on the employee's part.

Primary Responsibility:

  • Maintains the Corporate Contract Database which includes all corporate contracts and legal agreements. Responsible for the accurate maintenance and reporting of active terminated and pending contracts legal agreements and Certificates of Insurance.
  • Communicates updates and notices to all parties involved as needed. Responsible for email security audits to insure compliance with regulations on Protected Health Information (PHI). Maintains accurate database on privacy violations investigations and resolutions. Compiles reports and follows up with all parties to insure appropriate resolution.
  • Participates in root cause analysis activities. Reviews and prepares the mailing of confidential compliance-related communications including but not limited to EOB's and Reimbursement check diverts. Provides support to the CorporateCompliance and Medicare Compliance Committees by responding to requests for information and preparing and coordinating documents agendas and minutes.
  • Monitors department budget identifies and reports on variances. Responsible for the efficient flow of information into and out of the Compliance office to include preparing ongoing correspondence and reports while ensuring the resulting correspondence and reports are presented professionally.
  • Recommends and implements improvements to processes and tools as needed. Collaborates with other internal departments on special compliance-related projects. Performs other duties as required.

Knowledge and Skills (Indicate preferred or required):

  • Understanding of the fundamental practices of audit functions. Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment with limited supervision. Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
  • Ability to independently follow-up on outstanding items Excellent verbal and written communication skills including by phone email correspondence and documentation. Ability to effectively and collaboratively work with all levels of the HealthNow organization as well as other organizations.
  • MS Office (Excel PowerPoint Outlook and Access). Excellent word processing skills including ability to use advanced formatting with Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat and the ability to type 40 WPM; ability to set up and use basic Excel spreadsheets and Access databases.
