*Engagement & Communications Manager - Contract - £Up to 400 per day - Leading Local Authority - Central London - 3-6 months*

My Client, a leading Central London local authority, is looking for an experienced Interim Engagement & Communications Manager with office relocation experience - relocation of staff - initially a 3/6 month contract.

The engagement manager will be managing the project from a PEOPLE CHANGE perspective and thus not be involved in IT.

They MUST HAVE public sector experience and have fantastic engagement and communications skills and be able to demonstrate this on their CV and in an interview.

Key responsibilities for the role:

  • To lead the newly established corporate Change Network, a network of 80 change champions and change advocates across the council who lead on change and engagement within departments
  • To lead the corporate change and engagement for the council's Programme - a design and build programme and re-location of staff.
  • To work to Executive Directors as appropriate to develop robust and credible change and engagement plans to support future corporate transformation priorities

The successful candidate will be operating and managing relationships across all levels of the organisation.This role will design and deliver the councils change management approach, including preparing the council for change; managing the impact of change across the organisation, mitigating associated risks and assist in developing a change programme to support cross council transformation

  • Developing and managing relationships with senior stakeholders to identify and scope potential change activity..
  • Managing relationships between Business Areas and the Development Unit, ensuring effective stakeholder and knowledge management of business areas, working with knowledge manager to ensure, information is captured effectively
  • To deliver change and project management training. To be responsible for the creation, development and management of change management processes and documentation.
  • Raising the profile of best practice and promote the benefits of change management.
  • Developing a structured framework to monitor the impact of change with associated mitigating actions.
  • Optimising the timing of the release of project deliverables and benefits according to business requirements and constraints.
  • Identifying opportunities for change, writing reports and undertaking presentations recommending courses of action.
