We are looking for a senior project manager with excellent contract, procurement and team management knowledge to lead a project team of Mechanical and Electrical design engineers through phase 2 of a major civil engineering project that is currently in the detailed design phase.
You will be joining a crucial area of the business and accountable for some of the most demanding projects and packages of projects, from initial strategic planning through to implementation, construction and delivery. You will motivate and coordinate team members and external suppliers to ensure excellent standards are upheld.
You will be part of a Capital Projects team who are responsible for delivering on major projects, including ground-up construction of major heavy civils projects from flood defence systems, storage reservoirs and transportation projects.
The role:
Senior Project Manager to manage a team of engineers on a heavy civils project
To be accountable for strategic planning through implementation, construction and delivery
To manage, motivate and coordinate team members (Design Engineers)
A first class communicator, mentor and skilled negotiator used to delivering desired outcomes on time and on budget, promoting continuous improvements
The Person:
Ideally a degree in a relevant field and solid experience in both contract and project management
You will hold a Prince 2 practitioner status or equivalent, and you'll be a member of the institute of Chartered Engineers, Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management or Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
Experience of Delivering and managing major civil construction project for engineering consultancies of main contractors.
You'll need to demonstrate your exceptional track record in delivering complex projects with high risk factors.
