Mechanical Platform Scheduler - Contract 6 months - Stevenage, Hertfordshire

A leading Client of Modis is looking a Mechanical Platform Scheduler who will provide the Projects with regular, clear and concise product progress, resource and facility management schedules.

The Mechanical Platform Scheduler will manage forecasts and comparisons with actual usage to ensure project timescales and resources are managed effectively to meet customer and management requirements

As the Mechanical Platform Scheduler you will provide unified schedules for Project and Operation Managers to asses the total picture. You will support the Project Manager in attaining up to date project progress information to consolidate schedules and identify critical paths along with providing advice on alternatives and work rounds based on analysis of the schedules.

The Mechanical Platform Scheduler will enable effective resource and facilities management of individual products and projects along with communicating with Area Managers on their expected performance activities on a weekly basis. You will also be required to support regular monthly project reviews with Operations Manager.

As the Mechanical Platform Scheduler you will be required to provide a time/resource activity schedule for each Project by each Product deliverable (including kits) using the Primavera suite of Project Management Software as the system tool. You will also provide management and customer schedules on Project/Product progress along with assisting to develop and enhance the scheduling process and procedures.

The Mechanical Platform Scheduler will have direct liaison with all areas and levels of Management throughout the Client, and as necessary with the customer, to gain data and report Project progress. You will conduct and facilitate meetings on behalf of the Product or Project Manager (If required) along with liaising with Area Managers concerning resource variance, which may impact schedule. You will be required to produce Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) using Excel to analyse schedule trends with Operations Manager

Reporting

  • Issue agreed frozen schedule on a monthly basis in time for the Monthly mechanical platform review and answer ad-hoc requests whilst assuring adherence to Company procedures
  • Provide monthly analysis of cross project facility or resource clashes
Mechanical Platform Scheduler Skills required:

Essential
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of Primavera 6
  • This vacancy requires a very practical hands on individual who is comfortable and competent in communicating face to face Complex discussions, with the ability to translate complex information into a clear simple format that is understandable to all involved
  • This is an urgent vacancy which will required the candidate to hit the ground running and think independently therefore it is critical the selected individual will require to have obtained the correct skills and experience in a similar company within the engineering industry
  • HNC or higher in an Engineering or Technology or equivalent Business qualification or equivalent experience
  • Project Control experience including creation and maintenance of schedule planning in a complex multinational prime project environment
  • Able to work as part of a project team but, whilst retaining independence
  • Good Interpersonal skills such as presentations skills and communications
  • Knowledge of spread sheets and graphs in Excel
