Communications Engagement and Coordinator - 4 months - Edinburgh

Our public sector client is looking for an experienced Communications and Strategy specialist to manage the implementation of a new education awareness campaign. The role will comprise a mix of social media management, public facing skill sets and strategic implementation and management. The contractor will need to attend a series of engagement events and work from predetermined scripts to convey messages to different user groups.

Consultation will involve direct contact with senior academics and educationalists throughout Scotland. The campaign in question will require the capacity to devise, with others, a communications and engagement strategy and building wider public awareness of the value of maths.

Essential Skills:

- Excellent written and oral communications skills along with strong interpersonal skills.

- Management and operation of social media accounts through Twitter, Facebook and similar electronic communication platforms.

- Very strong public facing abilites.

Desirable skills:

Good working knowledge and experience in working with Central or Local Government. Background in education or science-related posts would be an advantage but is not essential.
