Description

Position: Systems Analyst 2/NOC Analysts

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Duration: 2months +

Job Type: long term contract

Job Description:

  • The NOC Analysts position is an open ended contract position. While several individuals from the NOC have moved onto other teams within our infrastructure support group and ultimately been hired, there is no guarantee that a NOC Analyst will be hired on as an employee.
  • This position is for shift work. The shifts are scheduled either three or four days consecutively, and the shifts change on a monthly basis. Shifts coinciding with regular business hours (Monday - Friday 8AM to 5PM) are scheduled as four 10 hour shifts starting at either 6AM or 10AM. All overnight and weekend shifts are three 12 hour shifts, which are paid as 40 hours a week. Overtime is often an option (with approval), but is not available to new hires until they have been in the position for some time.
  • The Network Operations Center (NOC) is not like many other NOC's - at NOC Analysts are responsible for coordinating and sometimes executing hardware repairs on Servers, are regularly troubleshooting issues with Servers, and following SOPs provided by technology owners to address recurring issues. The NOC operates primarily out of a ticketing queue which updates in Real Time to show infrastructure related alerts for over 5,000 Servers at over 400 sites globally. Due to this, remote system administration experience is key to success in this role.

For this NOC Analyst role, Systems Administration experience is required in:

  • Windows Server and/or
  • Unix/Linux server platforms

Other desirable skills include:

  • Backup/Restore
  • Citrix
  • DNS
  • Networking (Cisco)
