Mechanical Design Engineer - ProEngineer, CREO
Opportunity:
Working for a global technology solution provider, and due to the high success of the business, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join the rapidly expanding team. You will be responsible for the design and documentation of the mechanical engineering aspects of crucial products.
The successful candidate will have strong experience working with ProE (ProEngineer)/CREO, and will be a proficient designer. Additional experience with WindChill and AutoCAD will be beneficial.
Responsibilities:
- Fulfill customer or development requirements through full stage development of the mechanical design, component specification, prototype, testing and documentation stages
- For maximum cost effectiveness on the particular project, assess the validity of the various design and manufacturing proposals
- Prepare engineering specifications to obtain quotations from sub-contractors and suppliers where required.
- Liaise with the management team on performance to timescales and budgets on specific projects, as well as with all production, engineering and QA staff on mechanical engineering matters
Requirements:
- Relevant design experience - 3D Pro/Engineer (CREO) experience and WindChill
- Possess a minimum HND/HNC or equivalent
- Experience of designing castings, sheet metalwork, mouldings, electronics packaging solutions and electro-mechanical module design
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD version 2002 and 2011 for creating 2D drawings
- Previous experience of producing component, wiring and schematic diagram drawings and experience of testing and evaluating prototypes.
- Previous experience of designing revenue collection equipment, vending machines or special purpose machinery would be highly desirable.
