Information Architect

One of my leading financial services clients in Amsterdam is urgently seeking a Information Architect for a long-term contract paying excellent rates.

This is an indefinite assignment. If you like it, you will never have to leave.

The Information Architect will perform the following responsibilities:
  • Contributes to the formulation of a vision on (future-proof) long-term information management, in various scenarios.

  • Describes and monitors implementation of the set-up of (financial) information management, within the framework of applicable ING policy and regulations, in such a way that development and delivery of the required information output is guaranteed.

  • Focuses on the elements required to manage all aspects of data and information (both structured and unstructured) from translation of strategic, business and user requirements into an information architecture;

  • Spans the full information management life cycle from information acquisition through analysis, cleanse, transform, classify and storage to presentation, distribution, security, privacy and archiving;

  • Develops data standards (eg common business vocabulary, naming conventions, etc.) and defines the governance structure of the information and data objects;

  • Has knowledge of databases, meta-models, knowledge and content management, Business Intelligence and storage management.

  • Participate in breaking down desired (business and IT) themes into epics, features and high-level stories, that can be further refined into implementable stories;

  • Defining together with IT architects the solution architecture with focus on the information architecture;

  • Maintaining the Finance & Risk logical data model;

  • Define Finance owned and review global business terms (Esperanto);

  • Participate in the defining the Finance & Risk reference data structures;

  • Maintaining the logical and physical data flow diagram;

  • Maintaining the information services repository;

  • Review Functional and solution designs.

The Information Architect will IDEALLY HAVE AT LEAST 65% of the following skills:

  • Experience (at least 3 years) of working in a Finance Banking environment;

  • Data analysis and Datamodelling;

  • A strong affinity with IT is a must;

  • Education: University (UK), HBO/University (NL). Preferably Business Economics, Information Technology or Mathematics.

  • Significant knowledge of multiple environments (domains, platforms, products, architectures, technologies) and therefore can work mainly independent, sometimes requiring some guidance;
