Description
An urgent requirement has arisen for a Senior Device Network Engineer to work with a large professional managed service client based in Suffolk, on a 12 - 18 month contract.
We are looking Senior engineers with technical expertise in Consumer devices and Embedded systems; Home Connectivity, Power-lines/WiFi Hotspots and Smart/Internet of Things - devices, cloud & applications with strong experience in:-
- Writing technical specifications for consumer devices and RFP/ITTs.
- Managing complex technical issues (devices, network, security, cloud).
- Strong technical knowledge of CPE (Devices) and Home Networking
- WiFi, AV2, PSTN, VoIP, Cloud, RF - Zwave & Zigbee, network security. - Working with technical suppliers to ensure quality, timely delivery of BT products.
- Up to date knowledge of relevant technical developments & engineering methods, including CE/RoHS, EMC Directives & Harmonised Standards.
- Experience in electronic design and build
- Experience with working with teams and sharing, excellent communications and ability to multi-task on different technical products.
- Logical diagnostic skills with the ability to work with suppliers on complex issues
- Able to produce prioritised assessment planning and reporting documentation
- Skilled in managing own workload to ensure activities are performed in line with delivery plans
- Proactive in directing and performing their work and that of others to achieve task objectives
- Able to utilise the specialist skills of their peers to inform their own work
- Leverage their professional community to ensure their skill set and knowledge of best practice is maintained
- Keep abreast of market and industry developments in their work areas in order to inform future requirements
The successful candidate will need to have strong track record in a number of these above areas, as well as:
- Evidenced experience in areas such as: connected cameras, phones with Bluetooth, baby monitors and other related smart retail devices
- Covering the life cycle from concept, requirements specification, through development to deployment and launch.
- Being actively involved in ensuring quality from 3rd party suppliers, including output from test stages along with physicals such as CE, RoSH (using BoMCheck)
