Senior Engineer - Finite Element Analysis
A Senior Engineer with Finite Element Analysis experience is required to work on a twelve month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our defence client based in Glasgow.
This is a 12 month contract working for a leading UK defence company.
Overview of the Senior Engineer contract role
Support junior engineers, manage budgets, lead and motivate teams and make engineering decisions within their own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority. Familiar with more than one aspect of the life cycle. Have the ability to carry out complex technical analyses and investigations. Prepare complex specifications and deliver packages of work as part of cross functional projects/investigations.
Key skills required for the Senior Engineer
- Develop FE model
- Identify and idealise accurately the loads and boundary conditions
- Run analyses (linear elastic or modal)
- Verify results via hand calculations and standard methods
- Interrogate results and assess integrity of structure
- Identify design solutions where applicable
- Engineering Lifecycle (ECDF L1-2)
- Produce technical documentation and reports in both Word and Excel formats
The role is based in Glasgow - Commutable from Kilmarnock, Paisley, Greenock, Stirling and Falkirk with excellent access from Edinburgh
