Description

* This is a 6-8 month contract. The consultant must work on-site in Akron, OH.*

This position reports in to the Global Infrastructure Services organization. The primary responsibility will be for the implementation and maintenance of Microsoft's System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).

  • Define & implement best practices for the design, configuration, administration and support of SCCM
    • Administer the SCCM tool set Back End to keep the system running and healthy, including changes to the core components, settings, backups & restores, and bandwidth settings
    • Perform general SCCM administration and troubleshooting
    • Analyze technical needs including compute, storage, bandwidth, and support
    • Implement new SCCM distribution points, Servers, and distribution configurations Provide support for core SCCM implantation, reporting, data maintenance, hardware monitoring, topology maintenance, and technical user interface
    • Design and develop queries, data views, and reports for SCCM users
    • Creates the information architecture necessary to manage a complex, distributed environment
  • Create roadmaps and future state strategies & initiatives taking full advantage of the SCCM platform
  • Provide knowledge transfer, documentation, knowledge management, and procedural expertise to enable effective, robust, global, (and correctly sourced support) around the clock - Not sure this person would immediately be involved in sourcing structure
  • Document the existing and future system state and procedures thoroughly and enable knowledge transfer to ensure future supportability
  • Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve complex and multi-functional issues within SCCM implementation as the final line of support
  • May require on-call and after hours support
  • Work under broad supervision, focusing on architecture, documentation, and solution delivery
  • Liaise with technical leaders to inform and support the future roles of SCCM within the environment
  • Work with stakeholders to anticipate, define, and meet technical requirements to implement and support SCCM functionality

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five to eight years' experience in Information Technology
  • Minimum of three years' experience implementing, configuring, supporting, and reporting on System Center in a large, global environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Business Administration or related discipline is required
  • Ability to understand the business needs and deliver prompt, efficient, quality service to the business; works to anticipate, identify and meet end-user needs; drives outward results and ensures high-quality standards are met
  • Can convey complex and technical issues to diverse audiences, orally and in writing, in a manner that is easily understood, authoritative, and actionable for the business; actively listens to peers' input
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; acts decisively and swiftly, identifies problems and drives towards solutions, takes on responsible roles and accountability for outcomes and is comfortable making difficult decisions
  • Ability to apply different strategies to convince others to change their opinion or plan, and wins support from others for ideas; is able to build support with peers without direct lines or reporting across a Matrix organization
  • Creates relationships with new acquaintances quickly and confidently; works to build trust and partner with stakeholders; successfully manages both internal and external relationships
  • Expert in System Center configuration, support, reporting, and troubleshooting
  • Competent in mobile device management, package deployment, and related System Center functions
  • Self-motivated team players able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to perform basic project management functions to orchestrate upgrades and roll-outs
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple ongoing incidents, customer requests, and simultaneous challenges
  • Working knowledge of Windows administration and network architecture
