Description
Reporting to the [Senior Media Relations Manager for (Global Business)/Regional Head of Communications (Global Business), the Regional Head of Media Relations for (Region)/Country Head of Communications] the role holder will be responsible for supporting the execution of an effective and proactive media strategy within [Global Business/Country/Region] The purpose of this role is to handle incoming media enquiries, issues and crisis management, and to ensure escalation is managed in an appropriate and timely manner for the [Global Business/Country/Region]
The focus of the role will be to drive HSBC's reputation and positioning on media issues in [Global Business/Country/Region] This includes managing external communications and leading on and handling reputational media issues. The role holder will also work with wider Communications colleagues within the [Global Business/Country/Region] to deliver a proactive media relations strategy that is aligned to HSBC strategy/Global Businesses.
- Play an active role in the development of the bank's corporate reputation in [Global Business/Country/Region]
- Contribute to increasing the volume and quality of the bank's press coverage in [Global Business/Country/Region].
- Support HSBC's Communications social media activity.
- Support a consistent approach to external communications in [Global Business/Country/Region].
- Confidently handle potential issues where HSBC may be portrayed unfavourably in the media, including appropriate escalation where required.
Responsible for advising, briefing and supporting the key stakeholders in the country/region on media relations matter under the guidance of the Regional Head of Media Relations or Country Head of Communications.
