Description
We are seeking a Senior Accountant for a 6 Month Contract position in downtown Atlanta.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the end-to-end transactional financial operations. Top candidates will be a CPA and have experience with the film industry including Georgia Production Tax credits, film production expenses, assets and amortization schedules.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Oversees the day-to-day accounting activities.
- Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
- Prepare and review complex entries and supporting documentation.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations, analysis, and certifications.
- Analyze, complete and communicate detailed variance analyses.
- Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting.
- Prepare audits for material film contracts.
- Analyze amortization expense for film contracts and productions.
- Collaborate with internal contacts regarding the treatment of production in progress costs.
- Prepare quarterly schedule reporting and tax packages.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- A CPA is preferred.
- 3+ years of accounting experience.
- 3+ years of experience in forecasting/budgeting.
- 1+ years of experience leading teams
- Advanced skill set with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with PeopleSoft Financials and Hyperion is preferred
- Technical accounting research and documentation experience is preferred
- Media industry is preferred.
