Press Officer, Communications, Press, Public Relations, Government, Public SectorI am currently recruiting for an experienced Press Officer to join a large governmental client of ours on an initial 4 Months contract based in Bristol, with travel required between two sites (Nottingham) on occasions.
Essential Experience
- Experience of working in a press office
- Experience of working with the media, including digital and social media
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to write clearly and simply, using plain English
- A practical understanding of how print, broadcast and digital media work, including the media cycle, circulation and deadlines
- Negotiation and persuasion skills; ability to build alliances to make a case
- The ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- A practical understanding of emerging digital services, tools and trends, including techniques for optimising digital content
- Understanding of the theory and practice of behaviour change
- Ability to carry out data analysis to understand audiences
- An awareness of the agency's work and wider government priorities
