Description

Digital/Web Copy writers x 2 - Contract - 4 months initially - Paisley.

My client, a leading University, is looking for x2 Copywriters for the University website. The website is currently undergoing redesign to enhance its content, structure, navigation and visual look. With an external digital agency, who have worked on the site design and IA, the client has developed the spec for each of the templates to provide a detailed breakdown on word count, features etc on each section as well as guidance on SEO for the pages. The website is being redeveloped to transform it from the 1400+ pages of the current site to a model incorporating approximately 600 pages. A major part of the creation of the new site will be in producing new or enhanced copy for the site structure, written from a digital perspective as opposed to the publication-based source of much of the current copy content. The role will involve creating new copy or editing and adapting existing copy to make it more appropriate for the website. The website development is being done on a phased approach with phase 1 concentrating on the elements of the site focusing on student life, global engagement and research, with launch of the new site scheduled for June 2017.

You must have skills and experience - gained from roles in marketing, journalism or similar - in web/
digital copywriting, SEO and content editing.

Briefing on the new website, templates and structure will be provided by the University's Marketing and Communications team as well as by the digital agency.
