Senior Editor (Practical Law) to be based in London on an initial 3 Month contract. Experienced all elements of Practical Family Law.

Job Title - Senior Editor (Practical Law)

Location - London

Rate - £350 per day

Duration - 3 months

Role purpose/summary:

Practical Law Family needs a qualified lawyer with in-depth and recent experience in private practice. Applicants should have a high level of technical knowledge and a strong interest in writing and communicating the law and its practical implications. This role will report principally to the Head of the Practical Law Family practice area

Major responsibilities/accountabilities:

Creating materials for Practical Law Family and Public Sector practice areas

  • Write and review content for the Practical Law Family. This includes practice notes, standard documents, drafting notes, current awareness updates and case reports.
  • Ensure that all materials are correct, up-to-date, reflect current market practice, well-written and comply with Practical Law's approach to writing.
  • Respond to questions from customers about law relating to family law practice and content published for Practical Law Family.

Technical skills:

  • A comprehensive and broad knowledge and experience of private family work.
  • An ability to produce well-written, practical content efficiently.

Interpersonal skills:

  • A team player with a flexible approach.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, courteously and regularly.

Personal skills:

  • Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Strong organisational skills.

Personal Experience:

  • Significant recent experience as a lawyer in the field of family law.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience at a law firm or at the bar.

Education/Certifications Required:

  • Education to degree level.
  • Professional qualification as a solicitor or barrister.
