3 MONTH CONTRACT

Our leading Financial Services client is currently seeking to recruit a Media Relations Administration on an initial 3 month contract in London.

Overview of role: The role forms part of an energetic and friendly Corporate Marketing and Communications team, based in London. The candidate will work as part of a busy media relations function covering Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific.

Reporting to the head of media relations for EMEA and APAC, the candidate will work closely with global marketing and media teams and PR agencies and be offered the opportunity to meet and interface with key global financial media and senior spokespeople.

Responsibilities:

  • Writing first drafts of external media communications (including press releases, speeches, social media posts) and coordinating associated approvals processes
  • Tracking press coverage and managing regional metrics and reporting for media relations and preparing presentations tracking results
  • Performing press office duties including distributing media communications and responding to media enquiries
  • Ownership of general press office administrative duties including managing media contact database and securing logistical arrangements for media events and interviews and tracking
  • Collaborating with marketing and broader global communications teams as appropriate to deliver targeted media relations support across the regions
  • Supporting and facilitating print and broadcast media interviews for key spokespeople, including preparing briefing documents
  • Prepare first drafts of messaging and perform general proofreading of media communications
  • Offer support to media relations head for example around incident/crisis communications

Skills required:

  • Some media or communications experience either at a PR agency or in-house media team
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • An ability to work in a time pressured, deadline driven environment
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong organisational and administrative skills
  • An ability to manage several projects simultaneously and plan ahead
  • An interest in financial services and the ability to build relationships and networks
  • Attention to detail whilst being able to perform multiple tasks quickly and efficiently
