Marketing Executive, Global Brand, £250 PD - 6 months +

Create and manage the launch campaign of a new industry-led service

An excellent opportunity has arisen with a global consultancy who is developing a new service, on behalf of the retail industry, for sharing accurate product data between brands and retailers that will transform the sector, saving it up to £200m per year in lost sales and inefficiencies.

A major part of this role will be to bring this service to market by:

  • Working with key project stakeholders internally and at retailers and brands to create a compelling marketing strategy
  • Owning and developing the marketing plan for the service to ensure maximum awareness up to launch in support of the industry development plans, and to meet or exceed all service subscription targets from launch

Campaign planning, management and delivery

Working closely with other members of the marketing services team and external agencies, you will also:

  • Plan, manage and deliver creative and impactful marketing campaigns to support our business needs for the retail sector
  • Ensure all available marketing channels are used to maximum effect, including online, email, PPC and social media
  • Ensure all campaigns have clear, targeted messaging and convey a compelling value proposition
  • Review and report on all campaigns against the agreed objectives, and identify key learnings that will increase the effectiveness of future campaigns

Content creation and management

Working closely with other members of the marketing services team, you will also:

  • Create compelling and impactful content by writing, editing and proofing content and communications for promotional material, online content, social media activity and email campaigns and newsletters
  • Create and manage a presentation library, creating a core set of slides covering market positioning, strategic focus areas and core services and ad-hoc presentations required to support our spokespeople at conferences and events
  • Identify opportunities for supporting imagery, infographics and video that simplify our messaging and relay complex processes and ideas in creative formats, and manage the process to create this content
  • Ensure all content is aligned with our brand values, visual identity and tone of voice
  • Ensure our website is maintained by updating and posting all agreed digital content using our Content Management System
  • Generate and edit online copy as required, against agreed content briefs
  • Ensure all content is optimised to support our search engine marketing plans

Email marketing

Working closely with other members of the marketing services team, you will also plan and deliver email marketing campaigns by:

  • Using our CRM system to ensure all email marketing campaigns are delivered to the relevant target audience
  • Planning and delivering email newsletters to targeted segments of our membership
  • Ensuring all email campaigns are aligned with other delivery channels, specifically online and social

Event and conference support

You will identify opportunities for exhibiting and speaking at third-party events and:

  • Manage contra-marketing deals with third-party events
  • Ensure all agreed speakers have maximum impact by supporting the creation of impactful presentations and supporting digital content
  • Report on the results and key learnings of all third-party events
  • You will also develop and manage programmes and content for our own events, ensure the creation of impactful presentations and supporting digital content.


  • Professional marketing qualification - degree, CIM, CAM
  • 5+ years' experience as a marketing professional, working with and managing external agencies
  • Experience of successfully taking a product or service to market
  • Project management and planning skills
  • Exceptional copywriting and editing skills - for online and offline
  • Exceptional presentation creation skills, using PowerPoint
  • A passion for great design and creativity
  • Ability to implement effective marketing campaigns integrating all communication channels
  • Ability to use email marketing software, delivering proven results
  • Ability to use Content Management Systems (CMS), preferably Sitecore
