Senior Consultant required to provide increased resource to Consumer and SME representatives for a Financial Services client. This is a 6-month contract based in Central London - rate £ pd.
The role requires regulatory and policy expertise and an enthusiasm for new technologies.
Main activities and responsibilities
- Enabling consumer adoption of a service which is safe, secure and enables informed choice about consent
- Delivering a consumer protection framework which is consistent, easily accessed and efficient in delivering redress
- Facilitating stakeholders to design services which work well for consumers, improve competition in the market and reduce complexity for consumers
- Communicating with end-users about the purpose of the service, what it offers and where to direct issues
Review and deliver a range of policy issues, drawing on the input from external consumer advocates and interactions with stakeholders and internal legal team as required.
Examples include:
o Design of pass-through
o Design of refund and consent revocation processes/APIs
o Multi-party regulatory requirements and authorisation
o Delivery of open data for Legacy products (back books)
o Development of data minimisation
o Liability and consumer protection model (ADR)
o Implementation of Service Level Indicators
o Extent of the Roadmap to PSD2 and beyond (eg pensions dashboard)
Provide secretariat to the Consumer Forum and co-ordinate the scheduling, papers and follow-up with the Customer Workstream and Comms Team.
Deliver a Consumer Manifesto' with the internal Comms team
Support with the delivery of consumer-facing communications and guides eg Consent Guidelines, garnering input from external stakeholders
- Develop the SME strategy with representatives
- Provide input into research programme to support a consumer-focused delivery
Extensive stakeholder engagement to ensure a continual consumer' presence and appropriate contributions from the Consumer which are timely and influential
Required skills, capabilities and experience
- Consumer experience
- Practical experience working in policy units within financial services and payments sector, with a European perspective.
- Working knowledge of PSD2 and RTS (preferred)
- Experience within regulatory or government policy units (preferred)
- Good quality report writing & document production
- Ability to persuade and influence
- Stakeholder engagement and communication
- Experience of developing consumer focused research programmes
- Use of Microsoft office products
