PR Executive/Press Officer

London (6 Month Contract)

The Company:

A global Telecoms company who operate in more than 170 countries across the world. They are now seeking a PR Executive/Press Officer to join their Consumer Marketing Department on a contract basis to work within their offices in London.

The Role:

We are looking for a PR Executive to deliver an 'Always On' programme of PR communications focusing on national and regional UK media. This role will be responsible for creating and delivering a steady flow of news content to support the UK business, building and raising the profile of the brand in the UK, keeping in line with company-wide PR messaging and specific business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and delivering an Always On flow of news content that leverages the brand to create engaging stories that will capture the eye and the imagination of consumers in the UK
  • Delivering integrated communications plans in conjunction with the wider UK PR team, aligning to UK and WEU marketing strategy and growth aspirations
  • Working closely with the WEU PR team around planned initiatives to deliver all available content and maximise coverage in the UK, with regional titles a particular focus
  • Identifying PR opportunities around competitor activity to increase and maintain share of voice in key publications
  • Working closely alongside the Head of PR, effectively coordinating all planned activity to maximise use of PR budget

Experience Required:

  • Broad communications expert, with an emphasis on national and regional news media
  • Experience in a fast paced 'centre of excellence' national and/or regional PR/communications team
  • In depth knowledge of the UK regional media landscape
  • A passion and hunger for UK news and current affairs and the ability to spot a story
  • A good understanding of a diverse and culturally rich workforce
  • Experience of managing agencies and external supplier relationships
  • Ability and willingness to travel nationally/internationally on regular occasions
