Sopra Steria Recruitment is working in partnership with a major public sector client in the UK. We are currently recruiting a Corporate Communications Advisor based in Preston, Lancashire for 3 months initially with possible extension.

Requirement Description:
- Plan and manage internal and external communications campaigns/projects effectively. Support in developing and delivering an agreed communication strategy and plan for each policy issue or business priority.
- Produce communications briefs which demonstrate the understanding and application of research. Identify and flag risks associated with the communications campaign/project.
- Liaise with policy leads to agree a communications approach that matches resourcing.
- Manage communication projects to time and budget across all delivery channels. Be the subject expert for these communication channels and share expertise with communication colleagues.
Key tasks and deliverables
Responsibilities:
- Support the communications team to provide effective all round communications support to the local Area teams
- Work with the local Area teams to source information and identify the right opportunities to achieve positive media coverage for our local work, including through digital channels
- Monitor and evaluate media, social media and other communications activity
- Draft and produce internal and external communications material (such as a Weekly Buzz, Cascade or blogs)
- Work with national News desk and other communications colleagues to produce press releases and media handling plans
- Lead on creation of any national-once content to support messages providing advice on brand as necessary
- Support the Senior Communications Team Leader and other members of the team on forward planning and reporting of events and activities
- Develop and maintain briefing material to support engagement with partners and communities
- Provide communications support on specific local and national projects
Experience Required:
We are seeking a communication professional who:
- Can evidence a good track record of delivering effective communications activity, particular through proactive work with the media
- Is a good team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Can evidence good written and verbal skills Additional useful information. This role will be required to work as a duty communications officer as part of a role and in an incident role as required. Some travel may be involved, when necessary.
