Description

For our life-science client based in Basel, Switzerland, we are looking for a:

Communications Associate 50%

Major Accountabilities include:
* Content manager / editor for the biomedical communication institute's communication channels
- Responsible for NIBR weekly newsletter that is distributed electronically to the more than 2200 associates based on Basel campus
- Develop and distribute relevant Basel based messaging and communication through multiple channels (site wide Emails, intranet, Yammer, Scala Digital screens)

* Ownership of the institute tour program in Basel
- The tour program is an important element to building Novartis' reputation and helping to tell the innovation story with external audiences.
- Organization / scheduling of lab tours
- Collaborating with scientists and other key stakeholders for tour requests
- Manage the key message material used by scientists and VIP hostesses leading the tours to ensure telling a consistent story

* Planning, managing and executing high profile local/ global events in Basel
- Responsible for on-site logistics in setting up and executing events successfully
- Work closely with the Comms team to develop and implement communication activities

* Administrative support for team / Head Basel Comms
- monitor external Communications Outlook mailbox
- manage vendor contracts and invoices / purchase orders
- managing calendar/ travel / expenses for Head Basel Communications

Education / Languages:

* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline
* Fluency in English (written and oral)
* Fluency in German a plus

Experience / Skills:

* Superb oral and written communication skills
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Self-starter and fast learner who can lead projects independently as well as in partnership with other members of the Communications team (local and global)
* Flexibility to manage competing priorities and shift focus as determined by changing needs
* Ability to manage multiple high detail deadline-sensitive projects with a high level of quality in all deliverables
* Intelligence and poise to work with executives, good collaboration skills to work with key partners
* Demonstrated experience in effective use of electronic channels, social media channels a plus
* Very good understanding of MS office programs, SharePoint, etc., knowledge of graphic programs (e.g. Photoshop) a plus
* Flexibility required to change agreed working hours for important projects
