Description

  • Research and plan external communications activity to support project milestones
  • Play a key role in implementing the projects communications strategy and tell the project's story to public and stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the project team on the implementation of the project's communications strategy
  • Help to manage a specific communications channel delivering coordinated, integrated and effective communications activity and content
  • To produce engaging communications materials including digital and print collateral
  • Provide communications advice to the wider project team ensuring consistent external messaging
  • To deliver parent company project governance requirements as required
  • To look for ways to encourage innovative thinking around how to improve Legacy benefits
  • To hold health, safety and welfare (HSW) as a key project value and to participate in the creation, development and implementation of HSW strategies by the project leadership team

Previous experience:

  • Experienced external communications professional with a track record of supporting the delivery of integrated communications strategies in infrastructure, transport or public service industries.
  • Experience of working in a high pressure, politicised communications environment
  • Experience of working with suppliers to develop communications materials
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a major infrastructure project in a similar industry &/or to working in a Matrix and dispersed team

  • Excellent writing, proofing and editing skills
  • Ability to identify and shape compelling stories
  • Perfect eye for detail
  • An ability to place yourself in the audiences' shoes and think about how a story is likely to land.
  • Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and personal resilience to working under stress/different styles of leadership/getting things done
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
