Media Communications Manager

Skills:

  • 3-5+ years experience in communications in multi-national companies, ideally gained in a number of communications disciplines.
  • Communications planning & delivery, aligning communications strategy and related campaigns to the drivers of the business and with broader reputation issues
  • Proven experience of working in a fast-paced, global team.
  • Track record of global thinking and delivering communications with measurable outcomes.
  • Strong, dynamic, highly articulate communicator with excellent writing skills, across a wide range of media (including digital)
  • To deliver the identified objectives of the role - strong business acumen, understanding link between strategy and operational performance. Having big picture perspective.

Responsibilities:

  • Working across the team supports Media directors in building understanding and confidence in the strategy and programmes. This includes proactive strategies around newsflow, but also maintaining interest in these announcements over time through content campaigns (eg, media features, capitalizing on broadcast documentaries) on key areas of the Group.
  • Supports media strategy and communication for corporate events such as quarterly financial results, strategic business updates and Annual General Meeting with shareholders.
  • Also supports development of Annual Corporate Reporting programme: specifically development of annual report content/messaging in relation to business performance.
  • Produces issues management materials for key corporate issues (eg remuneration, corporation tax, litigation) and briefings for senior leaders upto and including the CEO.
  • Works closely with digital communications colleagues to maximise digital reach of announcements across channels and devise appropriate content (video, social media, infographics etc).
  • Work with markets to gain better alignment across media relations.
  • Support co-ordination of media relations work by running a grid of activities and announcements.
  • Make a positive contribution to CGA and External & Market Communications cross functional initiatives and/or team meetings.
