Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead user-centered design based on consulting with clients, project teams and lead experience architect
- Act as a user experience advocate and lead a wide range of user research and design relevant tasks to assist product owner's effort of building a customer-centric application and champion the user experience.
- Demonstrate good understanding and practices of UX design principles, user research methodologies and fundamental usability guidelines through strong hands-on experiences and abilities.
- Consult various stakeholders and follow the internal process to get job done timely with quality and accurate translation of business context and user needs.
- Lead design review sessions with project teams, acquiring consensus and getting approvals on designs/documentation, and challenge core team to create a successful user experience and cohesive story
- Collaborate with a core team of various design disciplines and content writers and build and maintain a team rapport with creative team personnel, managers, & stakeholders
- Highly involved in user research along with Product Owner and Client Engagement where client users will experience the product offering.
- Must have the ability to establish testing criteria, assess testing outcomes and work with project teams to adjust UX and functionality to meet the needs of the users.
- Executing interaction and visual design as a part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Champion the customer journey and user flow on which to build user experience design/solution for the product you support while maintaining the defined internal design guidelines.
- Proactively assess and recommend improvements to the user experience. Advocate for usability, design and innovation within the organization.
- Rationalize solutions and effectively communicate ideas/designs via sitemaps, user flows, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity design comps
- Design multiple options, trust the iterative process, and understand that the first idea is not always the best
- Design, polish, and continually refine customer's consumer facing products.
- Strive for a consistent, coherent and accessible customer experience across all labs
- Present the user interface visually intuitive so information is easy to read, understand, and find.
- Ensure every piece of information and data surfaced on UI is useful and relevant to users' needs.
- Must have an exceptional eye for detail and passion for quality, and provide quality assurance on design deliverables
- Mindfully design for the users full portal experience including their activities on Legacy elements and the needs to pass back and forth between applications.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & DECISION RIGHTS
- Produce user research deliverables and design artifacts to lead UX design practices.
- Create design options to lead design iteration process in order to generate best design solution.
- Provide input on information architecture
- UX Designer conceptualizes the UX then works with stakeholders and end users to validate design and recommend the end to end design strategy
- Work with Lead experience architect and other designers to makes UI and UX design decisions for high complexity solutions - including what options to present to stakeholders and making final decisions between competing designs; decision needs to align with the UX vision and information architecture and with the long-term Product roadmap
- Work with the various lab teams to develop and uphold UI standards (eg accessibility) or determine when exceptions can be granted
- Recommend user research methodologies and produce relevant deliverables.

CAPABILITIES & SKILLS
- BA/BS degree in Design (eg interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, CS, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Ability to translate business and user requirements into logical and streamlined screen flows that support desirable user experience.
- Strong prototyping skill is a must, with tools like Axure and/or InVisionbeing a plus.
- 4-5+ years' UX design experience in web/digital products, experiences in finance industry is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
- Strong presentation and problem-solving skills
- Desire to work through the entire design process using methods like sketching, storyboarding, diagramming, wire-framing, usability testing and prototyping for screen-based experiences
- Solid knowledge of design tools (Adobe Photoshop and/or Sketch, Illustrator, and presentation software) and principles (typography, grid systems, visual hierarchy, color, white space, etc.)
- Fluent in communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale
- Portfolio of work samples showcasing work
- Experience working within a large organization is an asset
- Knowledge and/or experience in finance industry and agile process is preferred
