Senior Communications and Media Manager - Glasgow - 4 month initial contract
Harvey Nash's public sector client are looking for a senior media and communications manager to start ASAP and help to drive, design and manage their communications and media management.
The Role
- The postholder will be competent in creating communication strategies, implementing and evaluating these.
- The postholder will be expected to proactively identify opportunities to publicise the narrative around social security and to identify any potential reputational risks, highlight these to the appropriate people immediately along with professional advice as required.
- The postholder should be proficient in copywriting across a range of communications channels including print and digital.
- The post holder should be a proficient at proof reading.
- The postholder will need to be able to use effective leadership to be able to deliver results, promote collaborative working, and make connections across subject boundaries. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate how they can provide clear direction to navigate complex issues and competing perspectives at different levels, internally and externally
Essential Criteria
- Current or recent experience of working in a senior role in a communications environment, using insight to identify target audiences, and setting/delivering on comms/engagement objectives using a wide range of different channels.
- Able to demonstrate effective copywriting skills for a range of communications channels and an ability to adapt messaging and tone of voice for the intended audience.
- Proven track record of delivery across communications, campaigns and digital channels, using a programme of continuous improvement and learning.
- Experience of working well with stakeholders at various levels of seniority, with an ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
