Description
A government department in Canberra is seeking the services of a UXDesigner. The UX Designer will work within an agile multi-disciplinary Capability Delivery Team of Business Analysts, UX designers, Software Developers and Testers.
Working within an agile multi-disciplinary team UX designer will:
- Provide user-centred service design services on discrete system functions and mentor team members in service design
- Analyse our existing understanding of our users and their needs and if necessary update and further develop the personas and problem scenarios & value statements in the context of the organisations value streams
- Produce creative UI design concepts that are WCAG 2.0 compliant
- Collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts and the development team
- Provide insights to the development team about how users interact with the service and their behaviour
Essential skills and experience
- Demonstrated high level experience working as a creative/UI/UX designer
- Demonstrated deep understanding of digital and user centered design principles and practices
- Demonstrated experience creating documents and UX artefacts including prototypes, wireframes, customer journey flow charts, behavioural specifications, storyboards, personas and other visual aids
- Proven track record of improving online user experience through the development of accessible and creative digital and responsive mobile solutions
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with HTML5, CSS, Photoshop, Illustrator and other design and UX tools
- Proven experience facilitating user experience and usability testing
- Demonstrated collaboration, presentation and communication skills and ability to work with all stakeholders particularly through periods of change
Desirable skills and experience
- Knowledge of and/or experience working with the Digital Service Standard will be highly valuable
The role requires the candidate to be an Australian Citizen and hold Baseline clearance prior to commencement.
The contract period is 6 months with options to extend
