Description

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow/Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit 7 x User Researchers for initial 6 month contracts with the potential to extend on a rate of £345/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances these roles will be remote based for the foreseeable future.

Responsibilities:

- Execute a range of field and lab based user research according to business and project needs.

- Deliver user research using relevant methods and tools to ensure research findings are robust and actionable, meeting the overall aims and objectives of the project.

- Facilitate the inclusion of different types of users in appropriate research activities.

- Advocate for accessibility, assisted digital, and inclusive design practices and help teams design and deliver accessible services that work for all users.

- Support teams to continually improve their understanding of and engagement with users.

- Provide actionable insights to support design decision making and write user needs and user stories.

- Manage ethics and consent processes, and support the development of privacy and equalities impact assessments.

Essential Skills:

- Experience in a research setting, delivering a range of user-centred design research.

- Applying appropriate user-centred design research methods (eg desk research, qualitative research, survey design, data analytics, usability testing and accessibility testing) for different design life cycle phases (from data gathering to synthesis and analysis).

- Communicating research approaches and insights effectively to stimulate conversation and enable teams to agree priorities.

- Knowledge of other user centred design practices and Agile working practices.

Desirable Skills:

- Experience of user research in a public sector setting.

- Experience of either digital first or GDS service assessments.
