My client is looking for a PR Officer to assist on a major programme inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

Duties
* Support the delivery of HSE's proactive, corporate PR plan
* Be ready to tell good stories to bring life to the wide ranging and highly skilled work HSE does to protect people at work. You will do this in a 'digital by default' environment, producing packages to generate coverage in all media types.
* Drafting content/press releases, arranging broadcast interviews, pitching stories to reporters.
* Identify and act on opportunities by scanning the ever-evolving media landscape; monitor broadcast, online, print and social media as part of your day-to-day work.
* Develop and maintain confident working relationships with partners, victims and families, local and national government bodies, national, regional, trade and local media to improve placement and check progress.
* Provide PR support to the wide-ranging campaigns in HSE's business plan; work closely with campaign planners collaboratively and strategically to plan announcements and develop campaign material and draft handling plans.
* Respond in a timely manner to incoming enquiries from print, broadcast, online and social media, escalating as appropriate and ensuring that HSE's position is credible and effectively communicated.
* Beyond press release drafting briefing notes, fact sheets, lines to take and issue within agreed protocols.

Essential Skills and Experience:

* Demonstrable experience of working in PR and media relations in a fast-paced environment;
* Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
* A 'can do' attitude, to be able to demonstrate flexibility and juggle multiple projects under time pressure;
* Strongly understands the media landscape and has a sharp news sense with demonstrable PR skills, excellent judgement and is politically savvy.
* Ability to optimise audience reach through a mix of channels by targeting influential individuals including journalists and bloggers.
* The ability to build effective relationships and use them to influence others and negotiate diplomatically to meet your ends is essential.
* Confident to influence and advise others in more senior positions, with credibility

Location: Fully remote
Pay £160-£180pd inside IR35
