EDS Complexity Engineer
Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services requires EDS Complexity Engineers to be based in their client's office in Gaydon, Coventry UK.
This is a 2+ year temporary contract to start on 15th Oct 2021.
This role is for EDS Complexity Engineer within the Electrical Engineering Department. This is a critical role for delivering new products and programs across multiple present and future releases.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurate interpretation of multiple inputs including EDS circuits and vehicle specification documents to create a valid EDS complexity Matrix for WERS release
- Ensure all activities relating to complexity generation adhere to the EDS Clear plan and project timings
- Support EDS validation activities related to EDS complexity and release, ie WERS check validation, Nobo, wire to order
- Support the development of EDS non buildable options within the EDS complexity Matrix
- Optimise complexity, including give aways, to ensure the highest level of efficiency within the EDS product
- Ensure the validation activities related to EDS complexity Matrix and circuits have been completed, ie checking for single wire splices, 2 wire splices, no duplicate wire content parts.
- Create compatibility or plausibility tables for KSK modules for the EDS complexity Matrix
- Support the development of tools and processes to further enhance the design process
Key Requirements
Essential:
- 5+ years in total experience
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Good verbal and written communications
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Track record as an effective team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Client facing role, good communication skills, should work with teams.
- Detailed understanding of the EDS delivery process and Clear plan
- Ability to manage and manipulate vast levels of data to ensure accurate EDS complexity is achieved
- Detailed understanding of vehicle circuits and the respective wire optioning
- Understanding of feature offering and vehicle coding in relation to EDS complexity
- Working knowledge of the EDS tool sets and MS tools
Desirable:
- Experience in Automotive Engineering Delivery and in solving complex technical issues using a structured approach
- Experience in working with large teams delivering verification and validation platform and services.
