Content Designer - GDS experience - 6 months contract - Remote - UK Based - Inside of IRper day.
Working for a large Government body.
Our client needs experienced content designers who write high-quality, user-focused content and understand the web, technology, and people.
To be successful in this role you will need previous experience in a similar role within a public sector organisation. Experience of GDS and Content Design on .gov websites is a must.
Duties:
- Take complex language and processes and make them simple to understand
- Make the case for user-focused design
- Be able to explain your decisions clearly
- Working with developers, designers, policy specialists, legal teams, senior management - to produce world-class online products and services.
- Working on needs analysis and relating what users need to existing content, identifying gaps and overlaps.
- Meet user needs in their various areas of responsibility. This will involve deciding on the right formats to use as well as writing to GDS style.
- Help with developing content plans and attend planning meetings with contacts
- Develop and apply content and format strategies with support from a senior content designer
- Scoping, commissioning, writing, editing and publishing digital content
- Making sure user journeys are the best they can be
- Managing relationships with subject matter experts to make sure content is accurate
- Producing content assets that are accurate, timely, high quality (based on insight and outputs of user testing, relevant to the audience, easily understood, optimised for search engines) and to style
If you have extensive experience of writing for the web, with proven ability to create content that is accessible and usable, and experience of using Markdown or basic HTML then we would like to hear from you.
