iO Associates are very excited to announce that an industry leading software development consultancy we work with have landed a huge project with the Ministry of Defence and they are now looking to bring in an MoD security-cleared User Experience Designer to create user-centred SharePoint site designs by understanding business requirements, user journeys, customer feedback, and usability findings, in collaboration with users lead by a Product Owner.

Start: Immediate (Ideally by 15th November)
Location: West Midlands
Duration: 3 months (with the option for a further 3-month extension)
Rate: £450 - £475 per day (Outside IR35)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quickly create user flows, site template wireframes, prototypes.
  • Devise the site map structure and the simplest way for a user to navigate to the information they require.
  • Devise what information is initially presented to the User.
  • Devise how information is stored to give the best possible Users experience, exploiting the capability provided by SharePoint 2019 'on premise' and use all this information working iteratively with the Project Development Team.

Essential skills and experience:

  • The UX Designer is responsible for creating interactive programs that enhance a user's experience with the site and facilitate an enjoyable experience, shown through previous examples of work.
  • Focus on designing the presentation and interactivity of the solution, in collaboration with other team leads.
  • Create user-centred SharePoint 2019 site designs by understanding business requirements, user journeys, customer feedback, and usability findings, in collaboration with other team leads.
  • Experience of designing a website to comply WCAG 2.1 standards.
  • Quickly and iteratively create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, low and high-fidelity mock-ups.
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in creating and implementing UI development.
  • Professional written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment to create top-performing interfaces

Health & Safety Risks Relevant to the role:

Work must be undertaken on the customer site. You will be required to undertake COVID lateral flow tests routinely throughout the duration of the contract and comply with COVID HSW precautions.
