Description
Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Scotland, is currently looking to recruit a Web Content Editor for an initial contract until the end of March 2022 on a rate of £200-£250/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will be remote based for the duration of the contract.Responsibilities:
- Publishing content using the Umbraco content management system according to the organisation's procedures;
- Ensuring that web content complies with usability, accessibility and other standards of the organisation;
- Adding metadata to all content components following the organisation's guidelines and taxonomies;
- Locating and editing web links within a content management system;
- Publishing webpages to make any updates live;
- Checking broken links;
- Transformation programme tasks include:
- Transferring existing content to new wireframes;
- Development of new topic pages': working with colleagues to identify content for the pages and then publishing that content;
- Involvement in the development of a digital style guide;
- Supporting an audit of the existing corporate site.
Essential Skills:
- experience of working with a content management system (CMS) including using HTML and search engine optimisation - to produce online content;
- excellent writing skills including impeccable spelling and grammar;
- experience of developing and publishing web content using a user-centred design approach
- editorial accuracy and attention to detail;
- excellent communication and inter-personal skills;
- ability to work autonomously and in a proactive manner.
Desirable Skills:
- experience of using Umbraco as a CMS;
- a clear understanding of website standards and regulations including usability and accessibility;
- experience in online content review and quality assurance processes;
- experience of using web analytic solutions and interpreting web statistics.
