Incident Response Analyst - INSIDE IR35

One of our biggest clients is currently looking for an Incident Response Analyst to work in the CTU (Counter Threat Unit)

Job Purpose/Objective: To lead on the day to day activities of the Counter Threat Unit (CTU ) and to implement security initiatives, controls and governance processes that will protect customer, employee and company information from security risks and to ensure that the information security risk to the business is managed to an acceptable level. To proactively improve and tailor security defences to acquired Threat Intelligence. To monitor for any security breaches and lead all incident response activities across the organisation. This includes:

1) Threat Intelligence

2) Security Operations

3) Security Engineering

4) Incident Response

Key Experience and Competencies Required:-

ESSENTIAL SKILLS -

  • In-depth technical understanding of all security principles and underlying technologies regarding security operations, threat intelligence, security monitoring, incident response
  • Demonstrable ability to disseminate threat intelligence, identify its operational applications and impact and lead on follow-up activity.
  • Demonstrable ability to design security operations, procedures, policies and activities
  • Experience working at similar work level for a minimum of five years in Information Security or a related subject area
  • Experience leading incident response across an organization involving multiple business units
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing with good questioning and listening skills in order to identify customer requirements, whilst informing staff of progress and results by use of meetings and presentations. Ability to explain complex IT concepts to all levels of customer.
  • A sound understanding and practical experience of Information Security processes, policies and tools.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Background in ISO27001, CISM, CISSP, knowledge of Data Protection/GDPR, Information Security Forum, CiiSec
  • Understanding of information security controls in particular those relating to business process, governance, risk and education
