This position is for an Associate Research and Development scientist based in Belgium.

This position is full-time, on site, and the contract lasts until the 31st December 2022.

Department Description
  • Small Molecule Method Development is a department within Small Molecule Pharmaceutical Development (SMPD-AD). The department is responsible for:
  • Small Molecule Method Development, Method Validation, Method Transfer and support for chromatographic, spectroscopic and physicochemical methods.
  • Focused analytical base business support for the Small Molecule (SM) R&D and Manufacturing product portfolio
  • Development and implementation of Process Analytical Technology (PAT) / New Innovative Analytical Technology Platforms for Small Molecules


Job description
  • Execute Near-Infrared (NIR)/Raman method development, validation and transfer activities on small molecule projects related to lab applications (content uniformity, moisture, polymorphs and identification).
  • Execute experiments assisting the scientific experts, supporting the implementation of New Analytical Technologies and Process Analytical Technologies for small molecule applications.
  • Execute data review
  • Author and review protocols and reports regarding method development, method validation and method transfer
  • Report results to teams and management.
  • Ensure high scientific quality standards for experiments and take on responsibility for these experiments.
  • Comply with regulatory, GMP and safety rules
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team


Qualifications:
  • You hold a Master/Bachelor's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Technology or a related science with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Pharmaceutical Company
  • Expertise in various spectroscopic techniques (NIR, Raman, UV and IR) for application in analytical chemistry is preferred.
  • You have good knowledge of GMP.
  • Familiarity and experience with conventional analytical techniques (HPLC, GC, Karl-fisher, Laser Diffraction) is beneficial.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with pharmaceutical processes (granulation, blending, spray drying, coating, …) is an asset.
