For our client, an innovative closed joint-stock company, we are looking for a Film/TV Sustainability Expert to join an exciting new project in KSA.

Context: they need to engage some well-seasoned film and TV sustainability experts to act as a sounding board/ expert panel for a future project that we will be running; for clarity, the expert is not required to deliver the scope described below– just to help steer the workstreams based on his expertise, support w. decision-making/ problem-solving

1) Project overview: they want to draft the sustainability strategy for a future film & TV media hub with global scale and ambition (>60 sound stages, >1m sqm of facilities)

2) Project scope (more details to be shared after advisor signs NDA):

Diagnostic of client Film & TV sustainability plan
Diagnostic of the film/TV industry's environmental footprint (focus on the industry as a whole)
Diagnostic of global Film/TV sustainability and environmental footprint (focus on key global hubs)
Trends in Film/TV sustainability and environmental footprint (trends, latest technologies, and innovations)
Frame the client's vision & opportunity on Film & TV sustainability
Film & TV sustainability strategic choices & positioning for the client Media Holding Co
3) Expected expert engagement (totally expected at 7-12 hours per week but subject to change depending on workload):

Participation in consulting workshops to steer/ drive problem-solving/ bring subject matter expertise – 4-6 hours per week
Participation in sounding-board/ problem-solving sessions with the client to advise and derive potential options for the sustainability strategy – 1-2 hours per week
Review of materials prepared by consultants and provision of critical feedback – 2-4 hours per week
Professional background
>8-12 years in the media and film & TV space, w. experience with both production houses and studio operators
>3-5 years spent specifically in the film & TV sustainability space – supporting screen productions, crews, studio operators and policy makers with:
Reducing their carbon footprint
Reducing energy expenditure
Improving waste management practices
Improving use of resources
Ethical supply chain
Social & environmental strategy
Stakeholder and community engagement

Experience acting as a sustainability subject matter expert to drive the sustainability strategy of a film & TV player (producer, studio operator, crew etc.)
Ideal but not a knock-out criteria – experience with working with Tier 1 management consultancies and steering/ advising on sustainability-related workstreams
