Network Infrastructure Engineer - 3 Months - CornwallNetwork Infrastructure Engineer is required for a 3 month contract in Cornwall
Type: 3 Month Contract
Rate: £200-£250 per day
Location: Cornwall
Start Date: February 2015
A Network Engineer is required to assist in the delivery of a WAN upgrade project, including telephony (SIP) and data (MPLS, PPPoE, DSL) alongside other smaller upgrades and infrastructure improvements for a key client in Cornwall.
Qualifications/Experience
- 2nd/3rd line support experience with LAN/WAN including hubs, switches, routers, WiFi APs (Cisco, Meraki, Juniper, etc.)
- Knowledge of Cisco networking (routers and switches), DNS, DHCP,
- Cisco Certified (Desirable CCNA/CCNP)
- Previous experience with network security firewalls, (Dell Sonicwall) VPNs, testing and vulnerability
- High level of Telephony knowledge, especially SIP experience (Siemens, Unify)
- Strong experience with IP addressing, VLANs, routing, switching and resilient network design
- Experience performing Wi-Fi surveys for optimal wireless coverage.
- Knowledge of network monitoring applications
- Experience with network performance management and content filtering solutions
- Experience of site moves / office relocation / re-cabling & patch management
- Demonstrable Windows Support background, Wintel, Hyper-V, Exchange, Active Directory - Microsoft Certifications ideal
- A proactive attitude and the ability to assist with all levels of hardware / network support
- Ability to operate autonomously on customer sites, with good customer service skills.
- Diligence in installation standards - cabling, labeling and documentation.
- Role will involve some travel around South West

£200-£250 per day - initial three month contract position
