Description

A leading blue chip investment bank has an urgent requirement for a Senior Proposition Manager to join their large team to help growth which has a five year plan in place. The growth comes from various initiatives, one of which is the information business which was created to leverage the data and insights which the business function collects from current customers. The new business & proposition team has primary responsibility for revenue generation within the information business. The fundamental objective of the team is to convert the data into useful information and insights and find ways to create new sustainable revenue streams. The senior Proposition Manager will be the catalyst in driving new business models and propositions for personal and corporate banking customers.

FINANCIAL SERVICES EXPERIENCE IS A MUST HAVE

The role requirements:

Proposition Development

Leading on the design, development and implementation of innovative new business models and information based propositions. For each initiative, responsibilities will include:
  • Identifying customer needs
  • Undertaking market research
  • Development of business cases
  • Defining use-cases, minimum viable proposition and proposition roadmap
  • Establishing a pricing model and commercialisation route
  • Structuring, negotiating and executing complex commercial frameworks, which may include working with 3rd party partners
  • Ensuring governance and compliance requirements are met
  • Test & learn through Barclays Incubator to ensure quick delivery-to-market
  • Ensuring successful project management until launch.


Proposition Management
  • Direct responsibility for the on-going management of existing information based products which will include continuous enhancement of the product, leading on new iterations and 'test & learn' initiatives in addition to optimising the product's uptake and commercial return.

- Strategy Generation & Business Development: Can take a step back and look at long term trends within their product line, emerging technologies and integration of these technologies with the product. Highly numerate with strong critical thinking skills. Able to structure data to find the optimum answer to a wide range of commercial problems. For the most complex problems, able to brief specialist teams (technology, digital, BMB)

- Technology & Innovation: Credible and proven track record in developing and deploying innovation (in e-commerce, m-commerce and ideally data-driven propositions / "big data"). ).Challenges existing assumptions and ways of doing things. Actively looks for completely new ways to solve customer problems, in particular through:
  • Expertise in analysis of customer data to optimise targeting, communication and messaging
  • Detailed understanding of customer journeys and optimising customer experience
  • Measurement of success and response rate for marketing campaigns and promotional tools (placements, banners, …)
  • Able to design multiple 'test & learn' initiatives, in order to test the effectiveness of different marketing mix (pricing, proposition) to different audiences and optimise overall proposition, placements, language, tone of voice etc.


  • - Customer experience management: Has a proven track record of managing and optimising customer experience

    - Personal impact: Able to effectively communicate their ideas and feelings in a way that gets the maximum positive reaction from their audience. Stands out from the crowd, and conveys a feeling of trustworthiness through mannerisms and communication style.

    - Communication: Able to communicate their ideas effectively with a wide range of stakeholders at different levels in the organisation, both one-to-one and one-to-many. Particularly skilled at verbal communication, and conveying complex commercial decisions visually through the use of PowerPoint and similar tools.

    - Controlling risk: Understands the core risk categories (operational, credit, market and conduct) and how these relate to particular banking products. Knows how to use standard risk management processes i.e. identification, quantification, control development and quality assurance.
