A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senor Media Officer to join a local authority and work within the busy press office. You will be responsible for providing advice and guidance on to senior managers on sensitive matters. You will be responsible for both proactive and reactive media management and helping to communicate the organisations priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
Working closely with both internal and external contacts to ensure the press office is up to date with key issues
Providing guidance and advise to senior members of the organisation
Providing a professional media service to support the communication of the organisations key messages
Continual awareness of the news in order to ensure that the organisation are aware of current and anticipated media issues
Use and monitor social media
Delivery of social media training to support media activity
Key attributes include:
Demonstrable media relations experience within a busy press team
Strong social media and digital skills
Experience of advising senior team members for the press
The ability to create strong and communications materials for both online and offline channels
Experience within a fast paced, high profile media department
