Description

This is an immediate opening for a Sterilisation Engineer position in a leading medical device company based in Westmeath. This is an excellent opportunity to join an amazing company with world renowned products that make an impact on relieving the day to day stresses on hospitals and patients around the world.

The Sterilisation Engineer will need to have strong sterilisation methods including Ethylene Oxide and Gamma. They are also looking for someone with a strong manufacturing background.

The sterilisation engineers role will include:
  • Responsible for routine sterilisation release of sterile products.
  • Maintain product families, as required, and ensure current dose maps. Perform EO validations. Responsible for sample procurement, flow and for coordinating activities with contract laboratories.
  • Write appropriate procedures and conduct training for sterilization, environmental monitoring, cleaning, proper employee gowning, and practices in the Environmentally Controlled Areas, hygiene, and control, and related areas. .
  • Conduct employee training, equipment and supply purchases.
  • Provide support to the Facilities Department on technical issues, such as the design and layout of controlled areas.
  • Will abide to Environmental, Health and Safety Policies and any relevant documentation.
  • Will comply with all relevant training required and adhere to relevant associated documentation.
  • Follow strict adherence to the requirements of cGMP.
  • Actively contribute to the enhancement of compliance initiatives for areas of responsibility.


Experience required for the Microbiologist role:
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years experience in medical device sterilization, with knowledge of EO, gamma, electron beam, and steam sterilization methods
  • BS Microbiology, Biology, or related science
  • Experienced in writing validation protocols and final reports.
  • Requires communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, in addition to being proficient in technical writing.
