Description

A global healthcare company is currently seeking a Material Scientist to work in their new site in Dublin on the R&D team. *Subject Matter Expert in material science for dry powder inhalation product formulations
*Material characterization of inhalation formulations including developing knowledge and understanding of material interactions and linking material attributes to finished product performance
*Technical understanding and interpretation of material attributes such as particle size , rheology, surface energy, polymorphism, morphology, surface area and impurities.
*Responsible for developing relationships with contract research organizations , including universities to design and develop studies to test and characterize APIs , excipients and blends in order to identify material attributes that affect the critical quality attributes of formulations
*Work as a member of R&D with colleagues in Dublin and the UK and with commercial manufacturing, to ensure the successful development and transfer of the commercial manufacturing process, analytical methods and product knowledge.
*Design and execute experimental studies using QbD principles to develop a robust and repeatable process, and generate supporting data for regulatory filing.

Qualifications:

*The ideal candidate will be a qualified, experienced material scientist with a proven track record of success, a positive attitude and who wants to progress in a fast paced environment.
*Scientific qualification e.g. Pharmacy/Chemistry minimum of degree, with 5+ years relevant experience in product development / technology transfer required.
*Statistical analysis of complex data and proficiency in relevant software packages.
*Previous experience with formulation development of complex drug product / medical devices required. Experience in inhalation formulation development is desirable but not essential.
*An ability to work flexibly and positively influence others. An ability to multi-task, good attention to detail and priority management essential.
*Strong technical ability including methodical approach to problem solving and strong technical writing skills.
