Communications Advisor - Communications, Microsoft Packages, Internal Communications

A Communications Advisor with - Communications, Microsoft Packages, Internal Communications skills/experience is required to work on a six month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Cumbria.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our clients' team within the role of Communications Advisor. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of core communications principles, techniques, skills and good problem solving skills with experience in a variety of communications roles, specifically internal communications.

Overview of the Communications Advisor contract role

  • Responsible for timely, accurate and effective delivery of communications plans which contribute to business successes.
  • Coordinate, collate and draft input for internal communications activity, ensuring content is engaging and relevant to specific audiences as well as aligned to key business messages.
  • Lead on the development of communications plans/projects under guidance from senior communications professionals.
  • Ability to persuade and influence multiple stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Apply a good working knowledge of communications policies, brand guidelines and governance processes.

Key skills required for the Communications Advisor

  • Degree and/or relevant professional certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to persuade and influence through effective communications.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft and/or other relevant software packages.

The role is based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria - commutable from Carnforth, Milnthorpe, Lancaster, Morecambe, Penrith, Workington, Whitehaven and The Lake District
