An exciting opportunity has become available in the UK and Ireland Marketing team at Visa Europe.

The UKI Marketing Communications team is accountable for developing, implementing and measuring national, member bank and merchant campaigns in line with marketing objectives. This role will report into Head of Regional Marketing Communications and has no direct reports.

Responsible for:

    • Developing and implementing the marketing communication activities eg national promotions, leveraging sponsorships and partnerships, member and merchant campaigns
    • Negotiating and defining campaign activity with a focus on digital retailer partnerships
    • Developing communication plans targeting national and member bank audiences
    • Defining marketing communications propositions with a focus on member and merchant co-marketing
    • Managing and implementing campaign creative development, production and implementation, executing on time and on budget
    • End to end delivery from brief to implementation of local and tactical communication activities, delivering all channels (ATL, digital, social and direct )
    • Managing and guiding the development and implementation of media plans, ensuring optimal budget deployment across channels and optimal target audience reach and impact
    • Engaging key clients (Member banks) to support national promotions through their own BTL communication channels
    • Measure campaigns and prepare reports for key internal and external stakeholders
    • Writing and delivering strategic and compelling presentations

Accountable for:

    • Managing local media and creative agencies and/or other suppliers to ensure they deliver consistently high levels of service on time and on budget
    • Developing and implementing communication plans, ensuring they are delivered on brief, on time and on budget
    • Defining, managing and optimizing media plans
    • Measuring the effectiveness of the communication activities by setting targets and putting in place adequate metrics and tools
    • Sell-in' the campaign activities to member banks.
    • Managing substantial budgets and negotiating with agencies and suppliers to ensure the company gets value for money
    • Supporting individual Member banks as needed to ensure high levels of satisfaction and capturing positive feedback

Essential criteria:

    • Educated to a degree level, the successful candidate is to have a minimum of five years experience and have previously worked as a Brand Manager on Client side, and/or an Account Director on agency side
    • Strong experience in Marketing Communications development - from planning, briefing, creative development, media planning, implementation, measurement and reporting.
    • Demonstrable experience in the main disciplines of marketing communications, including broadcast, direct, digital, social and content in the B2C and B2B channels. Experience in the delivery of high-volume, multi-channel campaigns.
    • Strong multi-project management skills, ability to multi-task, cope under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines
    • Highly numerate and able to use metrics appropriately
    • Strong understanding of traditional and innovative media/communications channels
    • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, presentation and influencing skills
    • Strong budget management skills
    • Creative mind-set and passionate about communications
    • Ability to interact at senior management level, and operate in a Matrix organisation
    • Self-starter with a can do' attitude and determined to make things happen
    • Requirement for occasional travel (Ireland)
