Description

Role: LabView engineer

Location: Brighton

Rate: £38 - £42 per hour

Duration: 6 months

I am looking for a senior a Labview engineer to design, develop and support the design test team.

Your role will be to:

- Electronic design of the test system hardware and writing of stand alone labview based test software.

- Diagnosing electronic circuit/module failures, establishing the root cause and feeding back corrective actions to design, manufacturing, supply-management and user groups.

- To include some hardware design but mainly to support our existing Software Engineer using NI LabView.Other duties may involve supporting electronic component validation (for obsolescence, second-sources and/or cost-reduction), supporting EMC and environmental testing.

- Electrical/Electronic design of Test System Hardware and writing of "stand alone" LABVIEW based Test Software.

- Diagnosing electronic circuit/module failures, establishing the root cause and feeding back corrective actions to design, manufacturing, supply-management and user groups.

Skill Set:

- Good understanding of National Instruments LABVIEW.

- Ability to 'bread-board' simple test-boxes.

- Good general understanding of basic Engineering techniques.

- General knowledge of electrical/electronic component types and familiarity with digital and analogue circuit schematic designs and operation.

- Familiarity with using a broad range of test equipment: e.g. multi-meters, oscilloscopes, logic-analysers, EMC measurements.

- Methodical approach to fault diagnosis.

- A good understanding of Electrical Safety Standards.

- Able to use MS Office and other PC based software to communicate problems, analysis & test results, containment and corrective actions etc.
